First Steps
Joseph Mugumya, Executive Director of a community organization in Uganda, has been key to developing and implementing the Central Africa Ebola Awareness and Prevention Campaign.
Mugumba has produced posters and fliers on how to protect against the deadly Ebola virus. He has arranged meetings in different Ugandan precincts to which he has traveled by motorbike to inform people about how to protect themselves and their families from Ebola. These group members have followed up with smaller local groups to "Spread the word -- not Ebola," the resounding cry of the Talking Turtle and the crowd she inspires in the story.

Anticipated Results
The Central Africa Awareness and Prevention Campaign may be one model for addressing and halting the spread of the deadly Ebola virus in Central Africa.

Our Mission
The Mission of The Sherry Mitchell Arts-education Fund is to develop and donate UNILISHA UNICORN AND THE FOREST FRIENDS:
o. Children's Books,
o. Arts-education Programs and
o. Educational Materials
to poor children in underserved communities in the United States and abroad.
UNILISHA UNICORN will be distributed in the United States to poor children in Native American, Appalachian, Urban, Farm and other underserved communities.
In addition, UNILISHA UNICORN will be translated and distributed to underserved children abroad.
Finally, we will offer Limited Editions of UNILISHA UNICORN in braille, with large print and in audiobook form.
Every child deserves the chance to thrive and succeed in life. Our program will play a part in touching Children’s Lives with an exciting opportunity to learn about UNILISHA UNICORN'S ADVENTURES with her MAGICAL TREASURE COMPANIONS -- who are rescued and led home --by a surprising array of FOREST FRIENDS.

Talented artists, writers, teachers and musicians are writing multi-leveled children's books and scripts about Unilisha Unicorn.

Unilisha Unicorn's adventures with her new Forest Friends teach empathy for those facing physical and emotional challenges. TOGETHER they (along with Unilisha's indomitable Treasures) succeed in going home. There they experience a surprising and transcendent ending!

EIGHT *NEW* CHILDREN’S BOOKS ARE COMING!!
Eight new children's story books are being developed. The new works are coauthored by Cary Wyant Schairer, with editing by Pat Holdridge Johnson. The eight new titles join the original Unilisha Unicorn and the Forest Friends, coauthored by Sherry Mitchell.
Audiobook excerpts are under development for this website.
